joined HWF in 1999 as the firm's Director of Operations. Before coming to HWF, Selma worked as a Senior Administrative Assistant at the APT Foundation, where she served as the liaison between the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Selma earned her Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.
Selma's primary responsibilities involve ensuring that the HWF office operates smoothly for the firm's staff and clients. Her duties include managing the firm's bookkeeping, payroll, and client billing. Selma also provides event coordination services and administrative support for a range of HWF clients who require comprehensive staffing and planning support, including the Connecticut HIV Planning Consortium and the Connecticut HIV Prevention Youth Advisory Group.

is a 2004 cum laude graduate of Salve Regina University, where she was President of the University's honor society, whose mission is centered on community service and scholarship. After earning her Bachelor's Degree, Kate served as a litigation assistant at Wilmer Hale in Boston. Kate first worked at HWF as a Research Intern from 2001 to 2002, and rejoined the firm full-time in 2006.
Kate's project portfolio at HWF includes research and strategy development in the areas of public health, early childhood
education and youth development, among others. Kate utilizes her communication and project management skills to provide ongoing fund development and operations support for several of HWF's public sector and nonprofit clients. She also performs regular site visits for long-term federal program evaluation projects. Kate continues to maintain a full project load while pursuing a Master's of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy at the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University. |

has focused his work on the utilization of data to improve decision-making in the nonprofit and public sectors. After earning his Bachelor's in economics from Haverford College, Matt joined the Urban Institute, where he analyzed the effects of various policy options on Medicare beneficiaries, designed models for estimating the costs of prescription drug proposals, and served as project administrator for large USAID contracts. Matt joined HWF in 2006 after receiving a Master's in Business Administration from the Yale School of Management with concentrations in Nonprofit Management and Strategy.
Since joining the HWF team, Matt has specialized in locating, analyzing, and presenting complex data to help HWF clients make better decisions to achieve their goals. Matt serves as the lead HWF Associate supporting DataHaven, an interactive resource providing access to data for indicators of community well-being in Greater New Haven. Matt's work at HWF has also included supporting strategic planning efforts - including several resulting in federal grant awards - in areas such as public heath, higher education, and workforce and economic development.

earned her Bachelor's with honors in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Master's in Public Policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. As a member of former Indiana Governor Joe Kernan's economic development team, Manasi assisted communities to retain and attract growing businesses and oversaw the application and administration of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for community infrastructure projects. From 2005 to 2007, Manasi served as a Business Advisor with the Small Business Development Center, providing financial, management, and strategic planning counseling to entrepreneurs.
Manasi originally worked as an HWF Associate from 1999 to 2000, specializing in resource development and organizational planning. Manasi rejoined the firm in 2007 with a wealth of additional experience in community and economic development and workforce policy. Her current project portfolio covers strategic planning, research, and fund development work related to early childhood and higher education, public health, and workforce development.
