"The team at HWF uses its unique ability to convene necessary partners and produce excellent grant applications for CPBI (ranging greatly in scope and focus area). We look to HWF to coalesce creative ideas and develop them into stories that highlight our proposed projects and meet complicated grant guidelines. On all occasions, HWF remains dedicated, patient and focused, invaluable attributes that make the intense and time-sensitive aspects of grant-seeking an invigorating process."

Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc. (CPBI) retained HWF in 2006 to increase grant funding from philanthropic organizations and government agencies. HWF support focused on two areas: 1) shaping internal strategy and building organizational systems to support a robust grants program; and 2) providing direct support with prospect research (identifying and qualifying potential funders) and grant writing.
HWF initially worked with CPBI to document its internal fund development practices, producing a database of existing philanthropic funding streams and relationships. HWF then worked with the CPBI Grants Manager to streamline its grant-seeking practices, build on its fund development relationships, identify new funding opportunities, and craft grant proposals.
HWF helped CPBI to refine its fund development goals to focus on larger projects through which it can serve as Connecticut's "go to" media/technology outreach partner. CPBI has linked its new strategic plan to numerous statewide grant partnerships that produce outcomes with greater reach and impact. HWF has also helped CPBI move towards achieving a long-term organizational goal of establishing the first Public Broadcasting Archive in Connecticut.
