Workforce Development

These are some recent examples of our work in workforce development.

Connecticut Department of Labor - Strategic Planning & Evaluation - HWF facilitated a statewide planning and design process that resulted in a $10.8 million federal grant to support the initial development of Connecticut's One Stop Career Center System (CT Works). HWF also provided ongoing technical assistance and evaluation services during the initial implementation of the system.

The Workforce Alliance - Strategic Planning, Fund Development & Evaluation - HWF has provided a range of technical assistance including strategic planning, evaluation, and Board development. HWF has also offered program design and grant writing support for complex efforts such as Youth Fair Chance and the regional transportation program.

New Haven Partnership for Community Development (YouthBuild) - Strategic Planning & Fund Development. HWF worked with a coalition of New Haven Community Development Corporations to secure a planning grant followed by a full implementation grant for a YouthBuild program to engage and train out-of-school youth in the construction trades while they obtain their GED and develop leadership skills.
