These are some recent examples of our work in housing & economic development.

Business Council of Fairfield County - Strategic Planning - HWF assisted a Steering Committee of educational, health care industry, and workforce development leaders in the creation of a plan to strengthen the competitiveness of the health care industry cluster in Southwest Connecticut.

City of New Haven - Strategic Planning, Fund Development & Special Reports - HWF facilitated a citywide planning process that resulted in a successful application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the designation of six New Haven neighborhoods as a federal Empowerment Zone. The application resulted in a $100 million federal grant commitment and $130 million in tax-exempt debt capacity for the City of New Haven.

Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Philadelphia - Strategic Planning & Special Reports - LISC Philadelphia plays an essential role in building capacity in Philadelphia's community development sector. HWF facilitated a strategic planning process involving a Local Advisory Committee, as well as national and local LISC staff, to develop LISC's 5-year plan to ensure the effectiveness and impact of its products and services. HWF then summarized the results of this planning process into a concise Strategic Plan report.
